Minims Proxymetacaine and Fluorescein

What is it?

An anaesthetic and stain, available as preservative-free, single dose eyedrops containing 0.5% proxymetacainene hydrochloride and 0.25% fluorescein sodium.

Medical Uses

To produce anaesthesia and to stain the eye, in opthaimic procedures.

Dosage

Adults and children, usually 1 or 2 drops prior to examination.

Special Care

Pregnancy, breastfeeding, heart disease, over-active thyroid gland, history of allergy.

Avoid Use

Prolonged use.

Known Side Effects

Irritation and stinging. In rare cases, severe allergic reactions.
