Minims Proxymetacaine

What is it?

A local anaesthetic preparation available as preservative-free, single dose eyedrops containing 0.5% proxymetacaine hydrochloride.

Medical Uses

To produce anaesthesia in opthalmic procedures.

Dosage

Usually 1 or 2 drops before procedure is performed.

Special Care

Protect eye; pregnancy, breastfeeding, heart disease, over-active thyroid gland, history of allergy.

Avoid Use

Prolonged use.

Known Side Effects

Irritation and stinging. In rare cases, severe allergic reactions.
