Miochol-E
What is it?
A cholinergic preparation available as a solution in vials with W FI containing 1% acetyl choline.
Medical Uses
To produce miosis (contraction of the sphincter muscle in the iris of the eye causing the pupil to become smaller), in cataract surgery and other operations on the anterior segment.
Dosage
Adults, 0.5 to 2ml, repeated as required.
Avoid Use
Children, pregnancy, breastfeeding.
Possible Drug and Food Interactions
NSAIDs applied to skin.
Known Side Effects
Clouding of cornea, breathing problems, fluid retention or de- compensation, slowed heartbeat, sweating, low blood pressure, sweating, flushes.
