Moduret 25

What is it?

A compound preparation combining a potassium-sparing and thiazide diuretic available as diamond- shaped, off-white tablets containing 2.5mg of amiloride hydrochloride and 25mg of hydrochlorothiazide, coded MSD 923.

Medical Uses

High blood pressure, congestive heart failure, liver cirrhosis (accompanied by an abnormal collection of fluid in the abdomen, ascites).

Dosage

Adults, 1 to 4 tablets each day in divided doses.

Special Care

Liver or kidney disorders, diabetes, acidosis and gout.

Avoid Use

Children, pregnancy, breastfeeding, serious or worsening kidney failure, hyperkalaemia (high blood potassium levels).

Possible Drug and Food Interactions

Lithium, ACE inhibitors, potassium supplements and potassium-sparing diuretics, anti- hypertensives, digitalis.
