Monit

What is it?

An antianginal nitrate preparation available as scored, white tablets containing 20mg of isosorbide mononitrate marked STUART 20. Also, MONIT LS, white tablets containing 10mg of isosorbide mono- nitrate, marked STUART 10. Also, MONIT SR, white, sugar-coated sustained-release tablets containing 40mg of isosorbide mononitrate.

Medical Uses

Prevention of angina.

Dosage

Adults, Monit and Monit LS, 10mg twice each day to start, increasing to a usual maintenance dose in the order of 20mg twice or three times each day. Monit SR, 1 tablet taken in the morning.

Avoid Use

Children.

Known Side Effects

Flushes, headache, dizziness.
