What is it?

A preparation of freeze- dried coagulation factor VIII with antihaemophiliac activities of 250, 500 and 1000 units in vials for injection.

Medical Uses

Treatment of haemophilia A.

Dosage

By intravenous infusion according to body weight, presence of inhibitors and severity of condition, according to manufacturer's literature.

Special Care

Risk of transmission of viruses responsible for serious conditions, including HlV/AIDs, hepatitis B and C - risks versus benefits should be assessed. Patient should be monitored for development of inhibitors 9antibodies) during the course of treatment.

Known Side Effects

Allergic reactions, nausea, chills, pain at injection site. If more pronounced hypersensitivity reactions occur, discontinue treatment.
