Motens
What is it?
An antihypertensive preparation and class II calcium antagonist available as white, film-coated tablets in 2 strengths containing 2mg and 4mg of lacidipine, marked 10L and 9L respectively, and with logo.
Medical Uses
High blood pressure.
Dosage
Adults, 2mg once each day as morning dose; may be increased after 3 or 4 weeks to 6mg once each day if needed. Special cure: weak heart, liver disease, disturbances of conduction (of electrical nerve impulses).
Avoid Use
Children, pregnancy, breast- feeding.
Possible Drug and Food Interactions
Cimetidine.
Known Side Effects
Palpitations, flushing, headache, dizziness, rash, fluid retention, polyuria (passing of large quantities of pale urine), increase in amount of gum tissue. Drug should be withdrawn if chest pain occurs.
