Myleran

What is it?

An alkylating cytotoxic drug available as film-coated, white tablets containing 2mg of busulphan, marked GX EF3 and M. Used, for: palliative treatment of chronic granulocytic leukaemia, essential thrombocythaemia, polycythaemia vera, myelofibrosis.

Special Care

Pregnant', patients undergoing radiotherapy.

Avoid Use

Breastfeeding.

Possible Drug and Food Interactions

Cytotoxic drugs, itraconazole, phenytoin, thioguanine.

Known Side Effects

Bone marrow suppression, gastrointestinal upset, fibrosis in lungs, excessive pigmentation of skin, abnormal liver function.
