Neisvac-C
What is it?
A conjugated vaccine available as 0.5ml of suspension in prepared syringes comprising 10µg of meningococcal group C polysaccharide conjugated to protein of tetanus toxoid.
Medical Uses
Immunisation against meningitis type C.
Dosage
Adults and children aged over 1 year, 0.5ml by intramuscular injection. Children, aged 2 months to 1 year, 3 separate 0.5ml injections allowing at least 2 months between each one.
Avoid Use
Children aged under 2months, acute and/or severe fevers.
Possible Drug and Food Interactions
Drugs that suppress the immune system.
Known Side Effects
Soreness at injection site, muscle pains, headache, sleepiness, irritability. All adverse side effects should be reported to the Committee on the Safety of Medicines (CSM).
