What is it?

A group II phenothiazine and antipsychotic preparation, available as scored, yellow tablets in two strengths marked with name, containing 2.5mg or 10mg of pericyazine. 10mg tablet is Also, marked with strength. Also, NEULACTIL FORTE SYRUP, a liquid containing 10mg of pericyazine per 5ml.

Medical Uses

Schizophrenia, severe anxiety and tension, agitation, behavioural disorders, maintenance of sedation for psychotic states.

Dosage

Adults, 15 to 75mg each day at first to a maximum of 300mg daily; elderly, 5 to 30m. For children, consult manufacturer's literature.

Special Care

Pregnancy, breastfeeding, elderly patients if weather is very hot or cold.

Avoid Use

Heart failure, epilepsy, Parkinsonism, liver or kidney disorder, underactive thyroid gland, glaucoma, coma, bone marrow depression, enlarged prostate gland. For Possible interaction and Side effects, see manufacturer's literature.
