Niferex

What is it?

A haematinic preparation of polysaccharide-iron complex, available as an elixir with a concentration equivalent to 100mg of iron per 5ml. Also, NIFEREX DROPS, polysaccharide - iron complex available as drops containing the equivalent of 100mg of iron per 5ml.

Medical Uses

Niferex, anaemias caused by iron deficiency; Niferex drops, prevention and treatment of iron deficiency in premature babies.

Dosage

Niferex, adults, treatment, 5ml once or twice each day; prevention, 2.5ml each day. Children aged 2 to 6 years, 2.5ml each day; aged 6 to 12 years, 5ml each day; aged under 2 years, use drops as directed. Niferex drops, 1 drop per 0.45kg of body weight 3 times each day.

Special Care

Previous stomach ulcer.

Possible Drug and Food Interactions

Tetracycline antibiotics.
