Nystaform-HC

What is it?

An antifungal and mildly potent steroid available as a cream containing 100,000 units per gm of nystatin, 1% chlorhexidine, and 0.5% hydrocortisone available as a cream. Also, NYSTAFORM-HC OINTMENT containing 100,000 units of nystatin per g, 1% chlorhexidine and 1% hydrocortisone.

Medical Uses

Skin disorders with bacterial or fungal infection present (either diagnosed or suspected).

Dosage

Apply 2 or 3 times each day for a maximum of 1 week.

Special Care

Should not be used on face or on children for more than 5 days. Should be stopped gradually.

Avoid Use

Children aged under 4 years (Nerisone Forte), prolonged or extensive use especially pregnant women or continual use as a preventative. Should riot be used to treat acne, leg ulcers, scabies, pen-oral dermatitis, tuberculous skin conditions, skin disorders caused by viruses, ringworm, any untreated bacterial or fungal skin infections.

Known Side Effects

Thinning of skin, adrenal gland suppression, hair growth, Cushingoid type symptoms (Cushing's syndrome).
