Opilon
What is it?
A selective ul-blocker available as film-coated, pale yellow tablets containing 40mg of thymoxamine as hydrochloride.
Medical Uses
Short-term treatment of Raynaud's disease (a disease affecting the arteries of the fingers which makes them liable to spasm when the hands are cold).
Dosage
Adults, 1 tablet 4 times each day increasing to 2 tablets, 4 times each day if condition does not respond. If no significant improvement after -2 weeks, drug should be withdrawn.
Special Care
Diabetes.
Avoid Use
Children, pregnancy, breastfeeding, active liver disease.
Possible Drug and Food Interactions
Antihypertensives, TCADs.
Known Side Effects
Headache, vertigo, flushing of face, gastrointestinal upset, rash. Drug should be withdrawn if liver function is affected.
