Orgalutran

What is it?

An LHRH (luteinising hormone releasing hormone) antagonist available as a solution iii pre-prepared syringes containing 0.25mg of ganirelix per 0.5ml.

Medical Uses

In women undergoing fertility treatment and controlled over-stimulation of the ovaries, to prevent premature surges of luteinising hormone.

Dosage

Women, 0.25mg once each day by subcutanous injection into upper part of leg on 6th day of being given follicle stimulating hormone (FSH). Continue until ovulation is induced.

Special Care

Allergies.

Known Side Effects

Reactions at injection site, nausea, headache. Any adverse reactions should be reported to the Committee on the Safety of Medicines (CSM).
