Ostenil

What is it?

a hyaluronan preparation available as a solution in pre-prepared syringes containing 20mg of (non-aidmal) sodium hyaluronate per 2ml.

Medical Uses

Restricted movement, pain and degeneration of knee and other synovial joints.

Dosage

Adults, 2ml injected into joint once each week for 5 weeks. Maximum dose is one course of injections every 6 months.

Special Care

Pregnancy, breastfeeding; swelling/fluid in joint should be reduced before injection is given.

Avoid Use

Children, skin disease or infection at site of injection.

Known Side Effects

Swelling and pain at injection site.
