What is it?

A calcium supplement available as a powder in sachets containing 3.3g of calcium phosphate.

Medical Uses

Deficiency in calcium in growth, pregnancy or breastfeeding, osteoporosis.

Dosage

Adults, 1 sachet added to water and drunk, each day.

Special Care

Patients on long-term treatment should be monitored for presence of calcium in urine.

Avoid Use

Calcium stones, chronic kidney disease, calcification, high levels of calcium in urine, patients who are immobile for prolonged period and who high levels of calcium in blond or urine.

Possible Drug and Food Interactions

Thiazides, vitamin D, tetracyclines.

Known Side Effects

Constipation, gastrointestinal disturbances.
