Panoxyl

What is it?

An antibacterial and keratolytic (skin removing) preparation available as an alcohol-based gel containing 5% and 10% benzoyl peroxide. Also, PANOXYL AQUAGEL, an aqueous gel in 3 strengths containing 2.5%, 5% and 10% benzoyl peroxide. Also, PANOXYL CREAM, containing 5% benzoyl peroxide. Also, PANOXVL LOTION, containing 5% and 10% benzoyl peroxide. Also, PANOXYL WASH, a detergent-based lotion containing 10% benzoyl peroxide.

Medical Uses

Acne vulgaris.

Dosage

Start with lowest strength preparation and apply to affected area once each day after washing.

Special Care

Do not allow contact with eyes or mucous membranes.

Known Side Effects

Short-lived irritation and peeling.
