Perdix
What is it?
An ACE inhibitor, moexipril hydrochloride, which blocks the enzyme, ACE, stopping the formation of angiotensin II which constricts blood vessels. This produces dilatation, decreasing blood pressure. It is available as scored, pink, film-coated tablets in 2, respectively. Usedf or: high blood pressure, either as sole therapy or with calcium antagonists or diuretics.
Dosage
Adults, 7.5 kg once each day to start, increased to 15 to 30mg (maximum 30mg). If diuretic is being used, cease use 2 to 3 days before therapy, then begin with 3.75mg once daily, afterwards adjusting according to response. Resume diuretic once established, if required. If nifedipine is used, start with 3.75mg Also, . For the elderly, start with 3.75mg once each day.
Special Care
Liver or kidney disorder, narrowing of renal artery or aorta, undergoing anaesthesia or surgery, collagen-vascular disease.
Avoid Use
Children, pregnancy, breastfeeding, past angioedema (widespread swelling due to fluid retention) - cease use if symptoms develop.
Possible Drug and Food Interactions
NSAIDs, lithium, drugs altering potassium levels, neuroleptics, tricyclic antidepressants (TCADs), antihypertensives, anti- diabetics.

Rash, headache, cough, tiredness, flushing, dizziness.
