What is it?

A preparation used in photodynamic therapy available as a powder in vials in 2 strengths containing 15mg and 75mg of porfimer sodium.

Medical Uses

Palliative treatment of certain obstructing lung cancers and obstructing cancer of the oesophagus.

Dosage

In accordance with manufacturer's literature and under direct supervision of specialist in photodynamic therapy. For all other specifications, consult manufacturer's literature. Any adverse side effects must be reported to the Committee on the Safety of Medicines (CSM).
