Pilogel
What is it?
A cholinergic preparation available as an eye gel containing 4% pilocarpine hydrochloride.
Medical Uses
Glaucoma.
Dosage
Adults, insert approximately 1 to 1.5cm of gel to conjunctival sac at bedtime, once each day.
Special Care
Warn patient that there isa temporary loss of visual clarity.
Avoid Use
Children, acute inflammation of iris, wearers of soft contact lenses.
Possible Drug and Food Interactions
Anticholinergics, corticosteroids.
Known Side Effects
Local irritation of eye, headache, temporary loss of sharpness of vision.
