What is it?

An antifibrotic preparation which dissolves fibrous tissue, available as powder in sachets containing 3g potassium p-aminobenzoate. Also, POTABA TABLETS and POTABA CAPSULES, both white, containing 500mg of potassium p-aminobenzoate. Usedfor: scleroderma (thickened skin), Peyronie's disease (fibrous hardening of the penis).

Dosage

Adults, 12g each day in 4 divided doses with meals.

Special Care

Kidney disease.

Avoid Use

Children.

Possible Drug and Food Interactions

Sulfonamides.

Known Side Effects

Anorexia, nausea (discontinue if these occur).
