Pred Forte
What is it?
A corticosteroid preparation available as eyedrops, containing 1% prednisolone acetate.
Medical Uses
Inflammation of eyes where no infection is present.
Dosage
1 or 2 drops 2, 3 or 4 times each day. 2 drops every hour may be needed during the first 48 hours.
Special Care
Pregnancy, babies.
Avoid Use
Fungal, viral or tuberculous eye infections or those producing pus. Also, glaucoma, dendritic ulcer, those wearing soft contact lenses.
Known Side Effects
Formation of cataracts, thinning of cornea, rise in pressure within eye, secondary fungal or viral infections.
