Predsol Eye Drops

What is it?

A corticosteroid preparation available as eye drops containing 0.5% prednisolgne sodium phosphate. A/so, PREDSOL-N, eye drops containing 0.5% prednisolone sodium phosphate and 0.55 neomycin sulphate.

Medical Uses

Predsol, inflammatory conditions of the eye in which no infection is present. Predsol-N, similar conditions where prevention of infection is Also, necessary.

Dosage

Predsol, 1 to 2 drops every 1 to 2 hours until condition improves, then reduce frequency of use. Withdraw if condition has not responded after 1 week. Predsol-N, 1 to 2 drops up to 6 times each day.

Special Care

Pregnancy, long-term use in babies.

Avoid Use

Glaucoma, eye infections of tubercular, fungal or viral origin or those producing pus, dendritic ulcer, patients wearing soft contact lenses.

Known Side Effects

Sensitisation, corneal thinning, cataracts, raised pressure within eye.
