What is it?
An hormonal progestogen preparation available as white tablets containing Sing of norethisterone marked AN inside a hexagon shape.
Medical Uses
Abnormal heavy menstrual bleeding, other menstrual disorders, postponement of menstruation, endometriosis.
Dosage
Women, heavy menstrual bleeding, 1 tablet twice or 3 times each day from day 19 to day 26 of cycle. Postponement of menstruation, 1 tablet 3 times each day, beginning 3 days before expected start of period. Endometriosis, 2 tablets each day beginning on 5th day of cycle, increasing to 4 or 5 daily if spotting takes place. 2 tablets each day should be taken for at least 4 to 6 months. Other indications, consult manufacturer's literature.
Special Care
Migraine, diabetes, epilepsy.
Avoid Use
Pregnancy, thromboembolic risk factors, previous or present liver tumour, history of itching or idiopathic jaundice during pregnancy, serious liver disorders, Dublin- Johnson and Rotor syndromes.
Known Side Effects
Disturbance of liver function, skin effects.
