Proctofoam H.C.

What is it?

A colorectal preparation combining a steroid and local anaesthetic available as an aerosol foam containing 1% hydrocortisone acetate and 1% pramoxine hydrochloride with applicator.

Medical Uses

Irritation of the perianal area (region around the anus and rectum).

Dosage

Adults, 1 applicator dose into the rectum 2 or 3 times each day and after passing stool. Apply to external anal area as needed. Use for maximum period of 1 week.

Special Care

Pregnancy, short-term use only.

Avoid Use

Children, patients with fun gal, viral or tuberculous infections.

Known Side Effects

Systemic corticosteroid side effects.
