Proctosedyl

What is it?

A colorectal preparation combining a steroid and local anaesthetic available as suppositories containing 5mg of hydrocortisone and 5mg of cinchocaine hydrochloride. Also, PROCTOSEDYL OINTMENT containing 0.5% hydrocortisone and 0.5% cinchocaine hydrochloride.

Medical Uses

Haemorrhoids, anal itching, inflammation.

Dosage

1 suppository and/or 1 application of ointment in the morning and at night, and after passing motion.

Special Care

Pregnancy, short-term use only.

Avoid Use

Patients with fungal, viral or tuberculous infections.

Known Side Effects

Systemic corticosteroid side effects.
