Pulmozyme

What is it?

An rhDNase available as a solution in single-use ampoules for use with jet nebuliser, containing 2.5mg of dornase alfa. Used fbr: cystic fibrosis, when certain conditions prevail.

Dosage

Adults and children aged over 5 years, 2.5mg each day delivered by jet nebuliser with possible 2x2.5mg in divided doses in patients aged over 21 years.

Special Care

Pregnancy, breastfeeding.

Avoid Use

Children aged under 5 years.

Possible Drug and Food Interactions

Should not benebulised with other drugs.

Known Side Effects

Laryngitis, pharyngitis, pain in chest, rash, conjunctivitis, changes in voice. At start of treatment there may be a short-lived decline in lung function.
