A eytotoxic drug available as scored, fawn-coloured tablets containing 50mg of mercaptopurine coded WELLCOME 04A.

Medical Uses

Leukaemia.

Dosage

Adults and children, consult manufacturer's literature.

Special Care

Pregnancy, kidney or liver disease. Liver function and blood counts must be monitored.

Possible Drug and Food Interactions

Mesalazine, allopurinol, sulphasalazine, warfarin, olsalazine.

Known Side Effects

Mouth ulcers, nausea, bone marrow suppression, anorexia, toxic effects on liver.
