Recombinate

What is it?

A preparation of recombinant factor V111, available as a powder in vials in 3 strengths containing antihaemophilic factor with nominal activities of 250iu, 500iu and 1000iu.

Medical Uses

Haemophilia A.

Dosage

Adults and children, up to 10ml per minute by intravenous infusion depending upon patient's body weight, severity of bleeding and presence of inhibitors. Manufacturer's literature should be consulted.

Special Care

Pregnancy, breastfeeding. Patients should be monitored for factor V111 activity and occurrence of inhibitors.

Avoid Use

Patients with allergy tomouse, hamster or cattle protein.

Known Side Effects

Reactions at injection site, flushing, nose bleeds, fatigue, flushing, nausea, occurrence of inhibitors. If hypersensitivity occurs, treatment should be withdrawn.
