What is it?

A preparation of recombinant human factor V111 (rDNA/ cho). Available as a powder in vials in 3 strengths with saline containing moroctocog alfa with nominal antihaemophilic factor of 250iu, 500iu and 1000iu.

Haemophilia A.

Dosage

Adults and children, according to body weight, severity of bleeding and presence of inhibitors, by slow intravenous injection. Manufacturer's literature should be consulted.

Special Care

Pregnancy, breastfeeding; patients require monitoring for factor V111 activity and inhibitors.

Avoid Use

Von Willebrand's disease, allergy to mouse, hamster or cattle protein.

Known Side Effects

Gastrointestinal upset, headache, chills, fever, lethargy, flushing, occurrence of inhibitors. Treatment should be stopped if allergic reactions occur.
