Regurin

What is it?

An anticholinergic preparation available as film-coated, yellow tablets containing 20mg of trospium chloride.

Medical Uses

Frequent urination, urgency and incontinence caused by disorder of detrusor muscle of bladder.

Dosage

Adults, 1 tablet twice each day before meals; treatment should be reviewed every 3 to 6 months.

Special Care

Pregnancy, breastfeeding, congestive heart failure, hiatus hernia, disease of coronary arteries, autonomic neuropnthy (damage/disease of nerves of autonomic nervous system), obstruction to outflow of urine or in gastrointestinal tract, coeliac disease, overactive thyroid gland.

Avoid Use

Children, serious ulcerative colitis, glaucoma, heart arrhythmias involving rapid heartbeat, toxic mega- colon, myasthenia gravis, liver disorders, patients receiving kidney dialysis.

Possible Drug and Food Interactions

Cisapride, colestipol, disopyramide, amantadine, metclopramide, antihistamines, quinidine, l-agonists, TCADs, cholestyramine.

Known Side Effects

Constipation, dry mouth. Any adverse side effects should be reported to the Committee on the Safety of Medicines (CSM).
