Relifex
What is it?
An NSAID and naphthylalkanone available as film-coated, red tablets containing 500mg of nabumetone, coded RELIFEX 500. Also, RELIFEX SUSPENSION containing 500mg of nabumetone per 5ml.
Medical Uses
Rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.
Dosage
Adults, 2 tablets or 10ml as 1 dose at bedtime. An extra 1 to 2 tablets or 5-10ml may be taken in the morning, if symptoms are severe. Elderly, 1 to 2 tablets or 5-10ml each day.
Special Care
Elderly, liver or kidney disease, history of stomach ulcer.
Avoid Use
Children, pregnancy, breast- feeding, active stomach ulcer, severe liver disease, allergy to aspirin or NSAIDs.
Possible Drug and Food Interactions
Sulphonylurea hypoglycaemics, hydantoin, anticoagulants taken by mouth, antieonvulsants.
Known Side Effects
Headache, dizziness, gastrointestinal upset, skin rash, sedation.
