Remedeine

What is it?

A compund analgesic available as white tablets marked PD/20, containing 500mg of paracetamol and 20mg of dihydrocodeine tartrate Also, REMEDEINE FORTE, available as white tablets marked PD/30 containing 500mg of paracetamol and 30mg of dihydrocodeine tartrate.

Medical Uses

Severe pain.

Dosage

Adults, 1 to 2 tablets 4 to 6 hourlyup to a daily maximum of 8 tablets.

Special Care

Elderly, chronic liver disease, underactive thyroid gland, enlarged prostate gland, allergies, severe kidney disease.

Avoid Use

Children, raised intracranial pressure, depression of respiration, diseases obstructing respiratory tract.

Possible Drug and Food Interactions

Depressants of central nervous system, alcohol, MAOIs.

Known Side Effects

Nausea, drowsiness, headache, vertigo, constipation, retention of urine.
