Renagel

What is it?

A phosphate binder available as white capsules marked G403, containing 403mg of sevelamer. Also, RENAGEL TABLETS, film-coated, oval, white tablets containing 800mg of sevelamer marked with strength and name.

Medical Uses

Elevated blood phosphate levels in haemodialysis patients.

Dosage

Adults, according to blood phosphate levels - manufacturer's literature should be consulted.

Special Care

Pregnancy breastfeeding, previous major surgery to gastrointestinal tract, swallowing disorders, inflammatory bowel disorders, stomach disorders - gastroparesis, disor ders of gastric motility, gastric reten tion. Electrolyte levels in blood should be monitored and vitamin supplements may be needed.

Avoid Use

Children, obstruction of bowel.

Any adverse side effects should be reported to the committee on the safety of Medicines (CSM).
