What is it?
A prepapration of freeze- dried human coagulation Factor IX available as a powder in vials with diluent in 3 strengths with nominal activities of 250iu, 500iu and 1000iu.
Medical Uses
Haemophilia B.
Dosage
Adults and children, by intravenous infusion according to patients body weight, presence of inhibitors and severity of bleeding. Manufacturer's literature should be consulted.
Special Care
Possible risk of transmission of serious disease-causing viruses including hepatitis b, hepatitis C, AIDS. Risks and benefits should be assessed.
Avoid Use
Vomiting, flatulence, nausea, headache, flushing, fever, anorexia, swelling of abdomen, jaundice, shortness of breath, gain in weight, development of inhibitors. Risk of thromboembolism. In the event of hypersensitivity reactions, treament should be withdrawn.
