Respontin

What is it?

An antimuscarine available as a solution in ainpoules for use with a nebuliser containing 250mg of ipatropium bromide per ml.

Medical Uses

Reversible airways obstruction.

Dosage

Adults, 0.4 to 2ml up to 4 timeseach day in divided doses. Children, aged 3 to 14 years, 0.4 to 2ml up to 3times each day in divided doses.

Special Care

Enlarged prostate gland, glaucoma. Patients should be closely monitored at the start of treatment.

Avoid Use

Children aged under 3 years.

Known Side Effects

Paradoxical bronchospasm, constipation, dry mouth, retention of urine.
