What is it?

A combined steroid and local anaesthetic preparation available as an ointment containing 0.19% prednisolone hexanoate and 0.5% cinchocaine hydrochloride. Also, SCHERIPROCT SUPPOSITORIES containing 1.3mg prednisolone hexanoate and 1mg cinchocaine hydrochloride.

Medical Uses

Anal fissure, haemorrhoids, proctitis (inflammation of rectum), anal itching.

Dosage

Apply ointment 2, 3 or 4 times each day; insert 1 suppository 1, 2 or 3 times each day after passing stool.

Special Care

Pregnant women, short- term use only.

Avoid Use

Secondary infections of the skin.

Known Side Effects

Systemic corticosteroid side effects.
