Simulect

What is it?

An immunosuppressant, available as a powder with diluent for reconstitution and injection containing 20mg of basiliximab.

Medical Uses

Additional treatment with corticosteroids and neural for prevention of acute organ rejection in kidney transplantation.

Dosage

Adults, 20mg by intravenous infusion over 20 to 30 minutes given in the 2 hours before surgery and repeated 4 days after surgery. Children, weighing under 35kg, 10mg given in same manner as for adults and repeated after 4 days; weighing over 35kg, same as for adults.

Avoid Use

Pregnancy, breastfeeding.
