Skelid

What is it?

A bisphosphonate that prevents bone resorption, available as white tablets containing 200mg of tiludronic acid, all marked SW 200.

Medical Uses

Paget's disease.

Dosage

Adults, 2 tablets once each day for 12 weeks taken with water at least two hours before or after food. If necessary, repeat course of treatment after six months.

Special Care

Disorders of calcium metabolism, mild to moderate kidney failure. Vitamin D and dietary calcium must be adequate.

Avoid Use

Children, pregnancy, breastfeeding, severe kidney failure, juvenile Paget's disease.

Possible Drug and Food Interactions

Calcium salts, food rich in calcium, antacids, indomethacin, gastrointestinal topical treatments.

Known Side Effects

Gastrointestinal upset. In rare cases, headache, dizziness, weakness, skin reactions.
