Slow-Fe Folic
What is it?
A haematinic preparation available as film-coated, off-white, sustained-release tablets containing 160mg of dried ferrous sulphate and 400µg of folic acid, marked TP and CIBA.
Medical Uses
Prevention of iron and folic acid deficiency during pregnancy.
Dosage
Adults, 1 to 2 tablets each day.
Avoid Use
Children.
Possible Drug and Food Interactions
Zinc salts, tetracyclines, antacids, penicillamine, levodopa.
Known Side Effects
Dark coloured stools, gastrointestinal upset.
