Solaraze
What is it?
An NSAID available as a gel containing 3% diclofenac sodium and 2.5% sodium hyaluronate.
Medical Uses
Actinic keratoses (slow developing, local thickening of the skin's outer layers due to severe overexposure to the sun).
Dosage
Adults, apply to lesion twice each day - usually about 0.5g is sufficient; maximum daily dose is 8g. Treatment should continue for 60 to 90 days with best results seen after 30 days following treatment.
Special Care
Open skin wounds or infections, area around eyes, exfoliative dermatitis, bleeding or ulceration of gastrointestinal tract, impaired heart, liver or kidney function. Patients should stay out of sun.
Avoid Use
Children.
Known Side Effects
Dry skin, itching, irritation, reddening, eczema, contact dermatitis, ulceration of skin and hypertrophy, rashes, tingling, numbness/'pins and needles' sensation, swelling/fluid retention, increase in muscle tone.
