Sulpitil
What is it?
An antipsychotic preparation and substituted benzamide available as scored, white tablets containing 200mg sulpiride marked L113.
Medical Uses
Schizophrenia.
Dosage
Adults and young persons over 14 years, 200 to 400mg twice each day with a maximum of 1800mg daily (severe symptoms only). Elderly, 50 to 100mg twice each day at first increasing slowly to normal adult dose. Children, 3 to 5mg per kg of body weight each day.
Special Care
Pregnancy, tumours kidney disorders, extrapyramidal disorders (involving the extrapyramidal tracts of the CNS), high blood presure, hypo- mania.
Avoid Use
Severe kidney, blood or liver disease, phaeochromocytoma (adrenal gland tumour), depression of CNS function, alcohol intoxication. For Possible interactions and Side effects, consult manufacturer's literature.
