Sulpor

What is it?

An antipsychotic preparation and substituted benzamide, available as an oral solution containing 200mg of sulpiride per 5ml.

Medical Uses

Schizophrenia.

Dosage

Adults and children aged over 14 years, 200 to 400mg twice each day to a daily maximum of 1200mg twice daily (severe symptoms only).

Special Care

Pregnancy, breastfeeding, hypomania, high blood pressure, epilepsy which is not stabilised, kidney disorders, tumours, extrapyramidal disturbances (involving the extrapyramidal tracts of the CNS).

Avoid Use

Children aged under 14 years, severe kidney, blood or liver disease, phaeochromocytoma (adrenal gland tumour), depression of CNS function, alcohol intoxication. ForPossible interactions and Side effects, consult manufacturer's literature.
