What is it?
An hyaluronan available as a solution in vials containing 20mg of sodium hyaluronate per 2ml.
Medical Uses
Osteoarthritis of the knee.
Dosage
Adults, up to 2ml injected intra-articularly into knee once each week to a total of 3 injections, or 6, in severe and chronic cases.
Special Care
Pregnancy, breastfeeding, acute inflammation of joint. Fluid should be drawn off prior to giving injection.
Avoid Use
Children, infected or diseased skin at site of injection.
Possible Drug and Food Interactions
Quaternary ammonium disinfectants.
Known Side Effects
Swelling and pain at injection site.
