Syntaris

What is it?

A corticosteroid preparation available as a nasal spray delivering 25µg of flunisolide per metered dose.

Medical Uses

Allergic and inflammatory conditions affecting the nose, e. g. hay fever.

Dosage

Adults, 2 sprays into each nostril 2, or maximum of 3, times each day reducing to a minimum effective dose for control. Treatment should continue long-term. Children, aged over 5 years, 1 spray in each nostril 3 times each day. Treat continuously for a maximum period of 1 month.

Special Care

Pregnancy, patients who have had recent trauma or surgery, ulcers of the nose. Also, special care in patients changing from other steroid drugs.

Avoid Use

Children under 5, untreated infections of nose or eyes.

Known Side Effects

Short-lived irritation of nose.
