Synvisc

What is it?

A hyaluronan preparartion available as a solution in pre-prepared syringes containing 8mg of hylan G- F 20 per ml.

Medical Uses

Osteoarthritis affecting knee joint.

Dosage

Adults, 2ml injected intraarticularly into knee joint once each week for 3 weeks. May be repeated after at least 1 month has passed to maximum of 6 injections in any 6 month period.

Avoid Use

Children, infected or severely inflamed joint, lymphatic or venous stasis of the leg, allergy to bird proteins.

Known Side Effects

Short-lived pain and swelling at injection site.
