Timodine

What is it?

A combined antifungal, mild steroid and disinfectant preparation comprising 100,000 units of nystatin per g, 0.5% hydrocortisone, 0.2% benzalkonium chloride solution with 10% dimethicone 350.

Medical Uses

Skin disorders, severe nappy rash infected with Candida.

Dosage

Apply sparingly 3 times each day or at nappy change. Special cure: should not be used on face or on children for more than 5 days. Should be stopped gradually.

Avoid Use

Children, prolonged or extensive use especially pregnant women or continual use as a preventative. Should not be used to treat acne, leg ulcers, scabies, pen-oral dermatitis, tuberculous skin conditions, skin disorders caused by viruses, ringworm, any untreated bacterial or fungal skin infections.

Known Side Effects

Thinning of skin, adrenal gland suppression, hair growth, Cushingoid type symptoms (Cushing's syndrome).
