Trimovate
What is it?
A combined preparation containing a moderately potent steroid with antibiotic and antifungal agents, available as a cream containing 0.05% clobetasone butyrate, 100,000 units of nystatin per gram and 3% oxytetracycline as calcium salt.
Medical Uses
Skin conditions in moist areas such as where 2 surfaces rub together, responsive to steroids and where infection is present or likely to develop.
Dosage
Rub onto affected area up to 4 times each day for a maximum period of 1 week.
Special Care
Should not be used on face or on children for more than 5 days. Should be stopped gradually.
Avoid Use
Children, prolonged or extensive use especially pregnant women or continual use as a preventative. Should not be used to treat acne, leg ulcers, scabies, pen-oral dermatitis, tubercu lous skin conditions, skin disorders caused by viruses, ringworm, any untreated bacterial or fungal skin infections.
Known Side Effects
Thinning of skin, adrenal gland suppression, hair growth, Cushingoid type symptoms (Cushing's syndrome).
