Triptafen
What is it?
An antipsychotic and antidepressant preparation which combines a TCAD and phenothiazine group 111, available as sugar-coated, pink tablets containing 25mg of amittripyline hydrochloride and 2mg of perphenazine, coded 1D. Also, TRIPTAFEN-M, available as sugarcoated, pink tablets containing 10mg of amitriptyline hydrochloride and 2mg of perphenazine, coded 2D.
Medical Uses
Depression accompanied by anxiety
Dosage
Adults, 1 tablet 3 times each day and a further tablet taken at bedtime, if necessary. Take for 3 months and then patient's condition and value of treatment should be re-assessed.
Special Care
Pregnancy, breastfeeding, Parkinson's disease, adrenal gland tumours, retention of urine, constipation, glaucoma, suicidal tendencies, psychoses, kidney disease, epilepsy, overactive thyroid gland. elderly patients may need lower doses and drug should be stopped gradually.
Avoid Use
