Typhim VI

What is it?

A preparation of inactivated surface antigen Vi of Salmonella tvphi available as a liquid in pre-filled syringes containing 25µg per 0.5ml.

Medical Uses

Active immunization against typhoid.

Dosage

Adults and children aged over 18 months, 0.5ml by intramuscular or deep subcutaneous injection. Repeat every 3 years if risk remains. Children aged under 18 months, assess risk of exposure as response is not complete.

Special Care

Pregnancy, breastfeeding.

Avoid Use

Acute infections and fevers.

Known Side Effects

Headache, fever, malaise, localized reactions. at injection site.
